From Donna's Desk:
I leave my desk for one meeting and suddenly everyone’s employment status is philosophical.
No one quit. No one was hired. No one changed departments, species, or tax category.
Still, a form appeared.
That's the funny thing about being pulled away from your actual work. The work does not pause. It mutates. A routine day becomes a question. A missing signature becomes a status change. A department of perfectly real employees becomes, somehow, a potential volunteer pool.
I understand compliance. Records matter. But so does proportion.
Sometimes leadership is not about solving the giant crisis. It is about returning to your desk and calmly asking why the ordinary thing grew teeth while you were gone.
So I’m curious:
What changed at work while you were pulled away, even though nothing really changed?
Signing off from my temporary assignment with the Green Campaign,

If you’ve ever thought, “How am I the only adult in this room?” you’re among friends.
Donna Lake Comic is for the people who keep things moving while everyone else creates new complications. The ones who solve the problem, and keep their actual thoughts safely behind a very controlled facial expression.
It’s a sharp, heartfelt office comedy about corporate nonsense, competence fatigue, quiet leadership, and the strange amount of dignity required to function in an increasingly unreasonable workplace.
Welcome to Donna Lake.
