From Donna's Desk:

I should have left a note.

Not a memo. Not a department-wide announcement. Just: “Pulled into the Green Campaign. Back when they release me.”

Because when people don’t know what changed, they start guessing.

An empty chair becomes “missing.” A coworker who went looking becomes “also missing.” Before long, perfectly reasonable people are considering a search party instead of doing whatever was on their calendars.

Communication can feel like one more thing when you’re already being pulled in five directions. But a thirty-second heads-up can save everyone hours of worry, speculation, and unnecessary detective work.

So I’m curious:

What small update would have saved your workplace a lot of confusion?

I’ll be somewhere in the Green Campaign, wishing I’d left a note.

Donna

  1. Communication is key! Pretty soon, the entire department will be empty!

    1. May as well be, with how much work is being accomplished!
