From Donna's Desk:
There is a point where a word or phrase stops meaning something and starts meaning whatever the room needs it to mean.
“Green” is apparently one of those words.
Sustainable. Efficient. Responsible. Environmentally aware. Or, if we are being less generous, marketable.
The problem with flexible language is that it can make everyone feel aligned while nobody has agreed on the same thing.
Clear words make harder promises.
They also make it easier to tell whether we kept them.
So I’m curious:
What workplace phrase means something different depending on who is using it?
Have you ever sat through a meeting where everyone agreed before anyone defined the goal?
I’ll be here, asking the inconvenient follow-up question.

If you’ve ever thought, “How am I the only adult in this room?” you’re among friends.
Donna Lake Comic is for the people who keep things moving while everyone else creates new complications. The ones who solve the problem, and keep their actual thoughts safely behind a very controlled facial expression.
It’s a sharp, heartfelt office comedy about corporate nonsense, competence fatigue, quiet leadership, and the strange amount of dignity required to function in an increasingly unreasonable workplace.
Welcome to Donna Lake.
