Panel 1

Action/Visuals: Wide office view. Donna Lake stands on the left in a purple outfit and purple glasses, looking toward Drew the sloth, who is lounging in a hammock, eyes closed, strung near a large potted plant. A big poster on the wall reads “CORPORATE WELLNESS INITIATIVE” with the words “Breathe / Reflect / Thrive.” The word breathe is crossed out.
Dialogue (Donna Lake): “DREW?”

Panel 2

Action/Visuals: Closer view. Drew lounges comfortably in the hammock, smiling serenely, eyes now open. Donna stands nearby, facing him.
Dialogue (Drew): “I HAVE COMPLETED MY REFLECTION”

Panel 3

Action/Visuals: Closer on Donna and Drew. Drew remains relaxed in the hammock, looking pleased with himself. Donna watches him, expression neutral-curious.
Dialogue (Drew): “MY CONCIOUSNESS IS NON-LOCAL”

Panel 4

Action/Visuals: Wider view shows Donna standing near Drew’s hammock, while a desk with an open laptop and a purple lava lamp sits in the foreground/right. Drew stays reclining in the hammock.
Dialogue (Drew): “SO IT CAN WORK AT MY DESK WHILE I REMAIN HERE”

Reflect

From Donna’s Desk:

Corporate wellness has two goals: admirable optics and uninterrupted output. One of those is aligned with reality. The other requires finesse.

I want my team healthy, mentally and physically, because they are people and because burned-out people don’t do good work. Corporate wants the same outcome, but preferably with a poster, a slogan, and a photo that suggests we all “thrived” on Tuesday at 2:00 p.m. due to their superior corporate culture.

That’s the tension. Real wellness is quiet and irregular. Work is loud and scheduled.

Drew has found a solution that is, frankly, genius and impossible to put in a slide deck. He can appear deeply at peace while also insisting the work continues elsewhere.

As his manager, my job is to translate that into corporate terms: yes, the initiative is being embraced; yes, the deliverables will still arrive (fingers crossed); no, we are not measuring consciousness in quarterly goals.

The sweet spot is this: support the humans, protect the deadlines, and give Corporate a clean tag line they can repeat without asking too many questions.

Breathe. Reflect. Thrive. Also: Submit by end of day.
