From Donna's Desk

My “Intent to Relocate” form didn’t relocate anything.
So instead of placing the scented effigies somewhere safe, we have:
-
A compliance alert
-
A new category called “Employee Engagement Aids”
-
And Parker, abruptly present with the right paperwork and the expression of a fox who just smelled bureaucracy and thought: advantage.
You try to solve a simple problem… and the system turns it into a process.
And then you’re stuck managing the process about the process… while the original problem sits there, still staring at you with tiny embroidered eyes.
So tell me:
-
What’s the smallest action you’ve taken that accidentally triggered a full compliance event?
-
Have you ever watched something perfectly normal get rebranded into corporate language so hard it stopped being recognizable?
-
And how do you keep your sense of humor when you realize your workplace has more forms than solutions?
I’ll be here, “acknowledging” the assets.
Donna
If you know someone who would enjoy this office paperwork acknowledgment comic, feel free to pass it along. Sharing is the one thing that doesn't require documentation.

Actually your attempt to relocate did send me to a “404 page”, where “search” brought me back to your reply. Now I feel the pain of Donna Lake personally!

An outstanding and timely irony, don’t you think? I believe I misspelled “acknowledgement” in the newsletter link and it won’t let me fix it. It brings us whole new discussion: Unfixable human error in the world of AI assistants and spellcheck. Sigh.
Yes! Send this to me each Wednesday.
